Last cake class before the summer and the task was to create a handbag cake. Not owning a lot of them myself, I spent a little time googling but finally decided on the one we had as an example in class, mainly because all material and colours were available more easily. Apparently it’s a Chanel. Ok. Didn’t have time to finish it though, much depending on the fact that it is much easier to model a frozen cake, and mine had to sit in the freezer for a long time since I had missed this small detail. It’s built with chocolate and ordinary sugar paste. The chocolate one looks a lot like real leather when you add some brown and black dust paint on it, which is cool, but I’m not to keen on the taste. I like the original better.
